Eating Disorder Treatment Center

The Kildare Street Clinic was founded in 1999 to offer specialized Eating Disorder Treatment Services employing the Psychotherapeutic model of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Extensive research has shown that The Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Treatment Model, is the most effective treatment for Bulimia nervosa, and Anorexia nervosa and for maintaining long-term change.

The Kildare Street Clinic Treatment is designed to support people in resolving these conditions by addressing not only the nutritional and dietary aspects, but also the many underlying factors which contribute to them. These include self-image and self-esteem; communication difficulties; assertiveness; and managing stress and conflict.

Anorexia treatment involves following a specific program that can help the individual overcome psychological issues such as distortion of body image, low self esteem and interpersonal conflicts. In the treatment of Bulimia, the emphasis is on reducing or eliminating binge eating and purging behavior. The ongoing benefits of treatment are improved self-image and self-confidence; communication; assertiveness and enhanced coping strategies for managing stress and conflict.
